Anna & Otto were married at the boutique-retro hotel, Marbella Suites, located in the heart of the corridor separating Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. All guests stayed at Marbella Suites making the hotel almost exclusive for them. For the wedding day we transformed the location from low key boutique hotel to event central by bringing in a dance floor, extensive lighting, coco mats leading to the beach ceremony and reception location, and of course brough in many of the bride’s favorite flowers including green orchids and Mexican calla lilies. Dinner was an international buffet with something for every palate. This truly was a night to remember!

With a royal wedding right around the corner, many of the hot trends for 2011 are inspired by the already popular Royal couple. A big shift from modern to traditional, brides in 2011 will want to feel like princesses on their wedding day.
Tiaras anyone? With the glamour back this year, we will be seeing a lot more tiaras not only at red carpet events but at weddings as well. The tiara is a good way to express your personal style and a great accessory to finish your overall wedding-day look.
From the smaller, delicate pieces that tuck into the hair and gives an elegant look, to the cool-girl tiara heavily encrusted with crystals, the tiara has a bolder, fun and fresh feel to it. Tiaras do not have to feel too proper or serious, this year they are all about being playful and fun.
One of the most important parts of the wedding day- if not THE most important – is of course the dress. The trend for 2011 dictates fairytale inspired limitless volume, elegant mermaid dresses, ballgown skirts, and even some sleeves. The sleeve extravaganza of the Lady Di dress lingers after all these years, and combined with the 1920’s vintage swing there you have it, sleeves. But my personal motto is “de la moda, lo que te acomoda” or just take from fashion trends what makes you feel most comfortable. So, for a beach wedding, in my personal opinion, I would leave the sleeves out of the picture.
Check out next week for more 2011 wedding trends and happy planning!
So you got engaged? Congratulations! Now, if you’re reading this it’s because you either already choose to have a destination wedding in Mexico or you’re still undecided, but you are tempted by the idea, and you’re not alone.
According to Conde Nast’s Bridal Group Infobank and Modern Bride magazine, 10% of the 2 million American couples that marry each year are choosing a destination wedding and we can see why. Exchanging your wedding vows during sunset on a beautiful and secluded Mexican beach is a very nice way to start your life together.
At the beginning stages of the planning process, many of my brides’ share a similar question: “Can I really afford to have a beach destination wedding?” The answer? Of course! Even with the extra travel costs associated with flying to Los Cabos and hotel accommodations, the many advantages that a wedding abroad in Mexico can offer many times outweigh these issues. One of the main advantages is that taking your wedding out of country will likely trim your guest list to the close friends and family, which ultimately equals savings to you. The venues and vistas are already naturally stunning which means savings on flower and additional décor items to make your chosen venue even more beautiful. In addition (and one of my personal favorites) many couples choose to extend their time in Cabo post wedding to include a tropical honeymoon to get the most out of their trip. Our long list of romantic hotels, private villas and world-class spas will tempt you to stay longer as well!
For these reasons, and many more, you can see why couples just like you are choosing to create the destination wedding of their dreams in Los Cabos and around Mexico. So hesitate no more and start planning for the most important day of your life, today!
